Passion is a fire that you need to handle with care.

Hey Reader,

Another Monday - let's crush it, right?

Today, I have some insight to share with you.

It might look like it's Tom-related, but trust me, there is value inside.

SO here we go....

I experienced burnout.

Yeah, everyone has this.

And it was not good because I am in the middle of many important projects.

I felt sleepy, nothing was fun for me, I didn't know what to do first, and I skipped training and learning. This caused me to feel like I was stuck.

But do you know what?

It is a mind game.

It always will be.

YOU vs YOU.

If you are pushing 100% towards some result,

I feel this state is inevitable in some part of every journey.

To me, it happened not for the first time.

But what I found is that I can recover really fast.

I took my weekend to focus on a few things and now,

I am motivated and full of energy.

I will share some tips with you to help you overcome this state as well.

First, let go.

Sit or lie down and take one day off.

It is NOT wasting time, but part of the process.

It is an ACTIVITY to make you productive again, so take some you-time.

Spend some time with friends and family.

Ask if you can share something with them and tell them how you feel.

That you are worried.

THEY WILL LISTEN.

They will even be happy as your relationship will become much stronger.

Sharing burdens is like a huge life hack!

After this, take hot coffee or tea, take a deep breath, and slowly, without any duty or pressure, write down all the things you have to do.

Prioritize them.

Set a schedule.

Like me, you can realize that it might be overwhelming but possible, or even better, you are just saying to yourself it is too much, but on paper, with scheduling, it does not look so bad at all.

We are humans too.

I believe in this newsletter there are a lot of passionate people and with passion comes a lot of energy, a fire that can sometimes burn.

Handle it with care.

Hope it helps YOU,

Tom

tom nemec Things I’d Do Differently if I Restarted My Web Developer Journey Hey Reader, today, I want to share with you 4 things I would do differently if I had to start my web development journey from scratch. First and most importantly, get a direction – pick up a roadmap. As a self-taught developer, I lacked guidance and had no idea what to do, which was the hardest part. Having a roadmap or mentor can give you direction and goals to reach, which is exactly what you need at the start....

tom nemec The Difference Between Git and GitHub Explained Hey Reader,Next week, a new opportunity to shine, right? Today, I’ll break down the difference between GitHub and Git for you. So, let's get started! Git is a version control system. It helps you keep track of changes to your code. Think of it as a save game feature for your project. tom nemec Building Consistent UIs with Radix UI and Tailwind CSS Hey Reader, I am finally back from vacation!I hope you had a great one as well. During my free time, I was coding because I had an interesting idea that I wanted to bring to life.It was a great way to practice Next.js and Tailwind CSS after taking a new course.
